Old Khaki Looks for Love

Want your shoppers to show you some love? Follow Old Khaki’s example and give them the chance to show it off wherever they are.

The South African retailer engaged in a neat bit of online/offline crossover marketing by handing out stickers that play off Facebook’s “Like” button. Shoppers were asked to tag the real life things they love and post photos on the retailer’s Facebook page – the Love photo with the most Likes will win R5000 in Old Khaki vouchers.

Shoppers have stuck the Love stickers to all sorts of things – their pets, their loved ones, their cars, even Old Khaki clothing. Then they brought their friends along to Like the retailer and their photos too. It’s brought Old Khaki a nice boost in fans, who were all given a heads up about the retailer’s Looks to Love sale earlier this month.

A similar promotion could see a swarm of camera-phone armed shoppers “Liking” their favorite things in and about your center, which would certainly liven up your Facebook page.
