Oakland Mall’s Magical Night
Oakland Mall is holding its first annual charity shopping night this holiday season, and it plans to help every charity it can reach out to.
The Magical Night of Giving is planned for December 5th, and it sounds like it will be a lovely night. There will be discounts, live entertainment, holiday activities and prize giveaways, all for wristband holders.
Rather than donate the money from the evening to a particular cause, Oakland Mall is distributing wristbands to any Metro Detroit 501 (3c) registered non-profit that’s interested in signing up. The wristbands sell for $5, and 100% of the sales of the wristbands go to the charities that sell them. That has the potential to be a lot of people spreading the word of Oakland Mall’s magical night.
Does your mall hold a charity shopping night during the holidays? Do you prefer to sell the tickets through the shopping center and give the money to select non-profits, or to allow the non-profits a role in selling tickets? Let us know in the comments.
