Northgate Mall Makes Demolition History
Successful marketers know all about the value of spotting opportunities. This week, one US mall saw a unique opportunity to celebrate its loyal shoppers and mark a piece of history.
Northgate Mall started the demolition of its old theater building this week, and the process drew a crowd of spectators. Several filmed and photographed the process, and rather than discourage the would-be photographers, Northgate saw an opportunity. Mall representatives informed onlookers that they could submit their photos to the mall, to be judged in the mall’s Best Demo Photo contest.
The best amateur photo of the demolition will win its photographer a $500 gift card to spend at Northgate Mall. The winning photo will also be published in the local press, to commemorate one moment in the history of the mall.
