Morguard Successfully Marries Social Media to Specialty Leasing

523morguardMorguard was a pioneer in taking its Specialty Leasing program onto social networks. A year later the company has seen great success with its Specialty Leasing Social Media Platform.

According to the company, the Specialty Leasing at Morguard Facebook page was created to move our industry forward into utilizing Social Media as a tool to drive awareness, tenant engagement, prospecting and ultimately revenues. The purpose of the page is to connect with specialty retailers directly, by providing posts and content that is industry specific, appealing to small business owners & entrepreneurs.

The page was created last spring, and officially launched in November. Now Morguard also has a Youtube Channel to go along with it. The content the company posts to the page draws the attention of the folks it’s hoping to build relationships with, with sponsorship ideas, merchandising tips, new products ideas and small business related articles. It’s also given Morguard a chance to showcase the successes of its tenants.

In December, the company launched a Facebook contest that gave its Facebook fans the chance to win one month rent-free at any Morguard property of their choice. The feedback from the Specialty Leasing community was great—so much so that it now plans to make the contest an annual event.
