Midsummer Place Opens its Doors to the Midnight Moo

Midsummer Place Shopping Centre will have to open its doors a little late this July: it’s hosting the start and finish of the Milton Keynes Midnight Moo.

This is not, as it may sound, an evening of bovine imitators, but rather a midnight 10K run or walk that’s just for the ladies. The event raises funds for Willen Hospice, which provides free specialist care to local adults with life limiting illnesses. The event is named for Florence, the mascot cow of the hospice, and last year it raised £180,000 with over 1700 participants.

This year’s event will doubtlessly be bigger and better than ever, with entertainment at the center, big prizes and lots of fun all planned out. The center will also serve as an official cheering place for the runners’ friends and family, where their enthusiasm won’t keep other locals awake.

For participants and the Midsummer Place, however, it’s sure to be a night worth staying up for.
