Mic Mac Mall Is Anything But Idle

This weekend, Mic Mac Mall started an initiative that should make its local environment a lot cleaner. On Saturday, it launched its Idle-Free campaign hoping to inspire drivers to change a simple habit and help out the environment.

Working with The Children’s Clean Air Network, the shopping center hopes that encouraging shoppers to turn off their cars around the shopping center will encourage them to do so on their own. It’s posting signs and notices (some of which were created by local children in a contest for $200 Idle-Free Bucks) to remind shoppers and make them feel good about taking part in positive change. And this week its collecting signatures to get the first thousand sign-ups in its Idle Free drive.

Here’s the launch video for the campaign, which encourages shoppers to save money that would otherwise go up in smoke, and to spend it in the mall.
