Metrotown Seeks the Spirit of Sport
With Vancouver hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics in just a few short weeks, Metropolis at Metrotown is rightfully reflecting on local sports.
Between now and the end of March, the shopping center is holding the “Spirit of Sport” photo competition. It’s looking for photos of the biggest sports fans out there. There’s $2000 in gift cards on the line — $500 for the picture that takes the most votes, $500 for one lucky voter, and $1000 for Metrotown’s top pick. Visitors can also leave a message for Canada’s Olympic athletes. A very unscientific look through the messages shows “Go Canada Go” in the lead.
The shopping center is also hosting the Volunteer Sports Leader Award. It’s looking for nominations and votes for the volunteers most dedicated to local amateur sports.
