Mashpee Commons Kicks off the Summer
This Saturday, folks from Cape Cod will be getting together for a sunny afternoon at the Mashpee Commons Block Party, a fantastic kick-off to summer.
Throughout the afternoon local musicians will be providing the soundtrack of summer: raggae from Shango Axe, a bluegrass set by Jim Lough of Riley Coyote, and tunes by Sarah Swain and Carly Tefft.
The Cape Cod Cannolis truck will be there with over 100 varieties of hand made cannolis, washed down by Del’s Frozen Lemonade. Shoppers can get their fortunes read by a fortune teller, and a stilt-walker will roam the commons. Kids will enjoy the moonbounce, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and a balloon twister. For a memento for later, a prop-filled DIY photo both will let shoppers shoot some great memories.
Retailers are also getting in on the pre-summer fun, with face painting at Ghelfi’s, a kaleidoscope demonstration at Cape Kaleidoscopes and more.
The Mashpee Commons Farmers’ Market will also be taking place in the afternoon, so shoppers can enjoy their cannolis at the center and then go home for a fresh, healthy supper.
