Manchester Arndale Celebrates The School Year
Back-to-school is a nebulous time for students. School isn’t quite real yet, and those last days of summer linger (though not quite long enough). Then the school year starts, and suddenly it’s a reality that has to be faced: summer is over. It’s not all bad, though. School has its good points, and there are places like Manchester Arndale where people are willing to dedicate time to making the return to the school year into a positive experience. Maybe even a little fun.
To kick off the school year and welcome new students into the fold, the shopping center is throwing its big annual bash, The Great Student Giveaway, the evening of October 4. It’s an evening of music, entertainment and deals, and it’s a great way to welcome the new year.
This year’s attractions include Radio 1 personality Aled Haydn Jones, who will be DJing for the evening. Girl band Parade, The Mend (fresh off X Factor), and singer/songwriter Britt Love will provide entertainment. MTV’s Jon Franks will be the evening’s celebrity MC.
Retailers will be offering students discounts of up to 30%, and there will be free McDonald’s food vouchers and goodie bags galore to pick up. On top of all that, the first 1000 students to register for the night will get a free £5 gift card to spend.
