Macarthur Square Debates Big Family Issues
Next week, Macarthur Square is hosting the first Family Life Forum, a new initiative for Lend Lease shopping centers. It builds off the concept of Erina Fair’s ForMum gathering earlier this year to help build stronger families in Australia.
Mia Freedman hosts the forum. She’s a mother of three, as well as a popular newspaper columnist. She’ll be working with Jo Lamble, relationship expert and resident psychologist on the Today show, to debate some of the big issues addressed by families today.
According to the center, Family Life Forum topics include:
– Tweens and Technology: staying one cyber step ahead
– Does your child have the right friends?
– How soon is too soon? From piercing ears to catching public transport
– Bullying: How to recognise it and how to respond
– Traditional values in the modern age
– Where have all the role models gone?
– How to talk to your kids so they listen and how to listen to your kids so they’ll talk
It’s the middle of the school year in Australia, but this sort of thing could be just perfect for the Back-to-School season. What parent couldn’t use a bit of guidance and reassurance as their children enter school for the first time, or move up to schools where the stakes are higher?
