Hyundai’s Road to the World Cup

The 2010 FIFA World Cup is just two short weeks away, and excitement is building around the world. As we get closer, the sponsors are getting ready in a big way.

Hyundai is pulling out all the stops to prepare for the big event. One major promotional event has just wrapped up: the Goodwill Ball Road Show. Starting in January, thirty-two four meter tall balls representing the World Cup teams were put out on display in Johannesburg, the host city of the 2010 World Cup. Everyone from South African dignitaries to primary school children signed the balls before they took to the road, following their teams and touring their respective countries to be signed with messages of hope and encouragement. The balls stopped in shopping centers around the world, and have now made it back home to a celebration in Johannesburg.

Hyundai UK also has a world cup promotion running. What would you give up for two tickets to the World Cup? According to the commercial that runs with the promotion, many people would give up quite a lot – roommates, ex-girlfriends, beloved bikes, and more. The language is not entirely safe for work, so take care when watching it.
