Hallmark Lets Dads Dance
Is there a rule somewhere that says Dads can’t dance? UK dads are being urged to break that stereotype for a Daddy Dance Off competition.
Organized by Hallmark Cards, and judged by Strictly Come Dancing star Phil Tufnell, the contest is traveling to shopping centers across the UK. It’s a nice bit of boundary breaking – most shopping centers look for something sports related to keep Dad occupied while the family goes shopping.
Dads of all ages are invited to break the mold and show off their smooth moves. At each location, a winner will take home £250 cash and the opportunity to pocket a further £1,000 as the overall national winner. And if Dads don’t want to head out to the mall, their kids are encouraged to enter them via video on the contest’s website. Now there’s a nice bit of blackmail to get Pops out to the mall.
The competition will be traveling throughout the UK all month, and will stop at Trafford Centre, Manchester; Metro Centre, Newcastle; Bullring Birmingham; Cabot Circus, Bristol; and Lakeside Shopping Centre, Essex.
