Golden Square Grows Up Green
Individual environmental changes may not save the world, but they make a difference. Not only do they help the environment, but they help people build a greener mindset.
In the lead up to Earth Day, Golden Square shopping centre is helping to build those greener mindsets with its Growing Up Green pledge. The center hopes to make Warrington one of the greenest towns around with the pledge, which starts shoppers off with an attainable goal: turn the thermostat down by 1 degree this month.
The center has calculated that a successful campaign could save at least 660 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, which is nothing to laugh at. And if shoppers see that change can be attained so easily, maybe they’ll be inspired to make even more.
Even more, this pledge will help local children feel pride in helping to save the environment. The center has also used its spring children’s events to encourage kids to take an interest in the environment, with flower planting and eco-bag decorating.
