GGP Seeks the Ultimate Seasonal Blogger

General Growth Properties is almost ready for its Christmas digital marketing campaign. It has a plan, a domain and a shiny new blog all ready to go. Now all it needs is a blogger.

The company has started a nation-wide search for its Merrier Shopping Expert. That expert will have a big list of responsibilities, including daily blogging for the benefit of GGP’s 160 or so malls and handling online promotions for the season. Hopefully Santa will keep that in mind when deciding whether the blogger’s been naughty or nice this year. But at the very least, the winner will be getting a 1,000 GGP gift card, Kodak zi8 video camera, a getaway for two to Chicago, and a blog ambassadorship worth $3,000 in his or her stocking.

The company’s shopping centers are on the lookout, and a new website is up to lay out the opportunities and responsibilities of the role. Entrants must send in a sample holiday blog post, a photo, and a few answers to important questions. GGP wants to know entrants three favorite blogs, whether they have blogs of their own (and how many readers they have), if they’re close to a GGP mall, and why they should be the Merrier Shopping Expert. Blog entries will be judged on Gift Giving Savvy, Creativity and Originality, and Humor and Entertainment. With any luck, the end result will be a merrier Christmas for GGP and its shoppers.
