Garden State Plaza Finds Its Pinterest Savvy Shopper

If you’re looking to capture the attention of the digital fashionistas, there’s one place you ought to be seen: Pinterest. It’s something of a retail mecca right now, and shopping centers are starting to get into the fun.

Case in point: Westfield’s Spring Trends Challenge. It wrapped up late last month, but it’s a fantastic example of using the site to reach out to influencers online. The company asked shoppers to do a little styling of their own and recreate one of its Spring trends crafted by Westfield Style creative director Stacy London, who you probably know as the co-host of What Not to Wear and brand ambassador for tons of major names.

Specifically, entrants were asked to create effective, compelling, and credibly successful Pinterest boards entitled “Westfield Style Spring Trend Challenge.” In order for a board to qualify it had to contain at least ten pins featuring Westfield retailer products, the Westfield logo, and at least one re-pin from Westfield’s own Pinterest channel.

Did it work out? You be the judge. The winner, Kristin Haas, put together a board designed in the style of London’s Ladies Who Lunch trend, and you can see the results right here. It’s a gorgeous board, bringing in a lot of popular looks and figures, and members of the Pinterest community took a shine to several of its items.

For her trouble, Kristin will get to travel to Westfield Garden State Plaza with a guest this fall, where she’ll meet with Stacy London, go shopping with her and get styled by London and the Style for Hire team. It’s an all-expenses paid trip with airfare, accommodations in New York City and more.
