Finding the Best Fire Fighters
Coquitlam Centre has an upcoming event that will bring all the ladies to the shopping center – the 2010 Pacific Regional FireFit Challenge.
It’s as good as it sounds for those who love to support our men and women in uniform. Firefighters from across Canada compete in physically demanding fire fighting tasks. Competitors work in full uniform, and must complete a course that includes climbing stairs with a 42 pound hose, hoisting a similar hose to the top of a tower, a forcible entry simulation, rescuing a “victim” dummy, and more.
The Coquitlam Center event is a two-day competition in May. To make the most of it, the shopping center is also holding a 50/50 raffle, a “Top Cop” demonstration, an antique car display, kids’ activities, and a BBQ and beer garden. All proceeds go to Coquitlam Firefighters’ Charitable Society.
