What’s up for Father’s Day?
It’s almost Father’s Day. Are you prepared? There are a few directions malls are taking their Father’s Day celebrations this year.
1. Sports: South African shopping center Killarney Mall is giving Dad a chance to the big rugby match between the Springboks and the Lions. The shopping center is also giving away a unique panoramic shot of the 2007 Rugby World Cup. A number of shopping centers are putting together similar prizes, with signed team memorabilia, tickets to events, and other sporty treats.
2. Fashion: Or shall we say a little gentle humiliation? Culver Square Shopping Centre has Fashion Police out on the hunt for dressed-down dads who need a lift. The UK mall will give he worst-dressed dad a full makeover. Similarly, some malls are giving away pampering packages the likes of which you’d usually only see on Mother’s Day, with spa treatments, hair styling and clothes.
3. Family fun: Windward Mall is hosting a great party for Dad and kids. The Celebrate Fathers event is put on by the Hawai’i Coalition for Dads, a group of organizations dedicated to offering information and services to father-figures to promote involved, nurturing and responsible fatherhood. The events include a Father-Child look-a-like contest, and a Kahalu’u Elementary School Ukulele Band concert.
Has your mall planned something original or exciting for Dad this year? Let us know in the comments.
