Fashion’s Night Out Succeeds at Stockland Merrylands

912merrylandsNorth America doesn’t get to enjoy Fashion’s Night Out this year, but Western Sydney just did and it sounds like a night to remember. September 5th was the big day, and Stockland Merrylands shoppers had the chance to get together with their girlfriends and indulge in an evening full of shopping with incredible sales, entertainment, giveaways and fashion events.

Shoppers arriving at the center had the chance to feel like a celebrity with the Paparazzi Area, where they were snapped by eager photographers, greeted with some bubbly and treated to a lolly buffet.

Three styling shows offered tips, tricks and trends from the experts. Just a few of the night’s free events, which gave shoppers the chance to make gold coin donations to the McGrath Foundation.

“The world of fashion is fast and diverse, said Eliza Hodgson, Marketing Manager for the center. “Particularly within the last ten years, retail trends move quickly from the runway and magazines to the store. Magazines, the internet, retailer looks and the fast nature of fashion inspire our customers to be fashion forward. Vogue Fashion’s Night Out provided our fashion retailers the perfect platform to showcase their key looks just in time for the launch of the Spring/Summer season.”

Centre Manager Daniel Buchanan look at Fashion’s Night Out as a part of the center’s overall strategy. “Our fashion offer at Merrylands is about a mix that meets the demand of this market, and the way our shoppers responded with their feet is an endorsement for the campaign and for the way our customers continue to appreciate and respond to that fashion offer.”

“We were excited to partner with an existing event on the fashion calendar and tailor it to our demographic, with the support of several key retailers being critical to the execution of the event. Our immediate focus will switch to food with a major October campaign that we are eagerly anticipating,” he said.

And initial results show that the night was a success—Vogue Fashion’s Night Out saw Stockland Merrylands achieve a 10.25% traffic growth, and 32.4% growth on the forecasted objective.
