Erina Fair Goes Wild
Starting today, Erina Fair features an interactive animal show from the Australia Walkabout Park.
The idea behind the Walkabout Park is to offer a zoo with no cages. The park houses over 180 indigenous Australian species, and visitors are free to walk amongst them. The park itself is fox-proofed to keep the animals safe, and a few species are otherwise protected, but generally it gives families the chance to meet local species up close and personal.
Rangers from the park will be bringing that ethic to Erina Fair. Shoppers will have the chance to get up close with several friendly species. They’ll also have the opportunity to learn about bush medicine and Aboriginal customs, and get their faces painted with ochre using a traditional Aboriginal methods.
