Dundrum Centre Joins City-Wide Hunt

221eggsEaster egg hunts are fun, but imagine how much more fun they could be if they took over an entire city. That’s how things work in Dublin, where the public can already get going on the Big Egg Hunt 2013.

It’s a charity initiative by The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, and it’s also a massive public art project. One hundred giant eggs have been painted, decorated, and set up in prime locations around the city. At 2 1/2 ft in height, they’re not exactly hidden, but finding them means taking quite the tour. And it’s a tour that travels through Dundrum Shopping Centre.

The centre is hosting six of the giant eggs, and features prominently on the event map. Those six will make a great start: anyone who manages to locate twenty of the hundred eggs will have a chance to win fantastic chocolate-related prices from sponsor Lily O’Brien’s, including the grand prize of diamonds, a chocolate factory visit, and a year’s supply of chocolate.

The eggs are being auctioned online with proceeds going to the charity. You can see a few of the lovely pieces of artwork on the auction site.
