Dulles Town Center Solves Summer Camp Woes
We’re still shivering in the snow up here, but it’s time to look ahead to brighter days: summer camp days, to be precise. Dulles Town Center spent the whole of last weekend welcoming kids and families who are looking for a good way to spend some of those long summer days.
At the Northern Virginia Camp & Summer Fun Expo, upwards of 100 exhibitors showed off for prospective summer visitors. From Pump it Up to Mad Science of Washington, there was something for nearly everyone.
Of course there is absolutely no way one could expect kids to pay attention to exhibitor booths all day long, so there was plenty of entertainment on the schedule. Seven mascots hung around to meet and greet their young fans and exhibitors displayed some of their best. This meant cooking demonstrations, DJ sets, gymnastics exhibitions, martial arts, dance and theatre.
A very important talk made its way into the schedule as well: the Fairfax County Anti-Bullying Discussion. Given the thin line between harmless fun and painful bullying, especially in overnight camps where supervision may not be thorough, it sounds like a good discussion to have.
