Dubai Summer Surprises Beats the Heat
Ready for a summer shopping vacation? Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) is on now through August, and it’s a hot event.
21 leading malls in Dubai are taking part in the summer shopping festival, and there’s plenty of fun on offer for shoppers and families. Wafi Mall is focused on good health with its Summer Wellness 2010 campaign, which includes health and hygiene tips, fitness demonstrations and health checkups. But it’s not all serious. Modesh, the festival’s mascot, will be driving around the mall on several days throughout the festival to hand out prizes and goodies to shoppers.
A wide variety of entertainers will also be on hand at the mall all summer, as they will be at Oasis Centre. Oasis has arranged family-friendly activities like balloon tricks, international acts such as Circusfera, Soccer on Rollers, Green Gymnastics and a Foosball Frenzy tournament. It’s also screening the World Cup games for shoppers.
The Dubai Shopping Mall Group is not leaving local shopping centers to go it alone for the festival. Every Thursday through the event, the organization will draw a winner for one of 14 BMW Series 3 luxury sedans. Shoppers can enter by spending at participating retailers, and those using Mastercard double their chances.
And if shoppers want some peace and quiet to explore the festival without their children, Dubai Mall is offering a summer camp for kids that will take them to the center’s aquarium, zoo, arcade, ice rink and cinema.
