Dress Up Your Deck at Sherway Gardens
This month, Canada’s Sherway Gardens is holding an auction for a great cause.
Celebrating early summer weather and the arrival of Father’s Day, Sherway Gardens is auctioning deck furniture so shoppers can really relax in the sun this season. 29 adult Muskoka chairs, four children’s chairs and two coffee tables are up for bidding, but these aren’t just any old pine pieces. Each of the items has been turned into a one-of-a-kind art object by local artists and designers.
The shopping center also sought out two guest artists to contribute to the project. It auctioned work by internationally known designer and journalist Kimberley Seldon and Glen Peloso, Principal Designer at Glen Peloso Interiors, Inc and host of several design shows. Kimberly came up with the Sassy Seat, shown above.
Shoppers need to stop by the shopping center to place their bids on the chairs and tables, which start at $150 and have “buy it now” options for $500. To follow their bids, shoppers can check out the bid book or visit the center’s website. Winners will be announced on June 21st, just in time for the first day of summer.
All proceeds from the auction go to Neilson Park Creative Centre, a local non-profit arts centre.
