Double Happiness This Weekend
This weekend isn’t just Valentine’s Day, it’s also part of the Chinese New Year. An auspicious combination for some shopping centers.
Alamanda Shopping Centre, for example, is celebrating Double Happiness this month – the joys of love (with Valentine’s Day) and prosperity (the Chinese New Year). While many malls are celebrating both, combining the two works as an inspired touch. Double Happiness is also a Chinese character that often serves as a wedding blessing. The Malaysian shopping center included its red envelopes in this marketing campaign, as they invite shoppers to celebrate love and prosperity at Alamanda.
SM Mall of Asia is focusing on the upcoming Year of the Tiger, with a regal tiger and a money tree as the centerpiece of its celebrations. The shopping center will be celebrating with forecasts from feng shui expert Maritess Allen, a Diabolo (Chinese Yo-Yo) exhibition, and a traditional Chinese Fan Dance. The events will end on Sunday with Lion Dancers.
