Don’t Miss the Conference of the Americas
While many of our readers will be attending the ICSC Canadian Conference in the first week of October, there’s another conference that shouldn’t be missed that week. If you’re based in Latin America or you do any business in the area, be sure to make it out to the 11th International Congress of Shopping Centers and Conference of the Americas.
From October 4 – 6 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, you can take in the largest industry event in Latin America, where the shopping center industry is both huge and rapidly outpacing the growth of most other regions. It’s jointly hosted by ICSC and ABRASCE. You can expect to make great contacts, explore the massive Exposhopping hall, and take in expert panels. Topics include industry trends, social networking, the millenial demographic, branding, and a lot more. Brazil will host the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics, so there is a lot of excitement to come in preparing the industry.
Starting off the conference is the 2010 ABRASCE awards, with categories for Management Excellence, Expansion and Revitalization Excellence, Merchandising, Newton Rique Social Responsibility, and Shopping Center Retailing.
