Dogs, Cosmetics and Fall Fashion: A Match Made in Heaven?
Fashion shows for pets aren’t anything new. We expect to hear about a few fall fashion shows that feature both models and dogs, as it’s a great way to incorporate a cause like a local shelter into your fall fashion season.
But here’s one we haven’t heard about before: last weekend, at Visalia Mall, JCPenney held a combination fashion show and dog talent show to promote Sephora.
At first we thought it must be a “animal-testing-free” connection, but that’s probably far too 90s. Instead this fashion/doggy show promoted a new line of cosmetics for sale at Sephora. Buxom, a brand sold by Sephora, has launched a selection of waterproof eyeshadow named after dog breeds (Black Lab and Golden Retriever are self-evident, but would it surprise you to know that Bull Dog is blue and Schnauzer is purple?). Buxom makeup consultations were available at the event.
We’d bet the event went to the dogs, though. The Valley Oak SPCA was on hand to offer adoptions to families looking for a new pet, and shoppers were welcome to bring their own dogs along to enjoy the show.
