CrossIron Mills Holds a Confessional

CrossIron Mills is appealing to one of the great human vices with its newest contest: vanity.

The Confessional Closet contest asks a big question. “Mirror, Mirror in the mall, what’s your best fashion find of all?” The center set up an adorable closet-style video booth in its VIP lounge. Shoppers came in with their favorite purchases and recorded short videos extolling their virtues. To save shoppers from being required to purchase, they can also talk about their trip to the center.

Those videos are posted online for the entertainment of the viewing public, and they really are entertaining. The current leader, a young woman by the name of Laura A., performed a freestyle rap about her love of CrossIron Mills. That might seem like quite the thing to do, but the stakes are high enough. The winner will take home $8000 in gift cards from the center, its retailers and contest sponsors.

Add to that a $500 daily winner, and you can probably see why the center has received hundreds of entries and thousands of votes.
