Cresta Inspires Teen Expression
Cresta Shopping Centre has put together the Ultimate Teen Xpression event, taking place a little later this week in its amphitheater. It isn’t just a chance for teens to express themselves, though—it’s a chance for them to find new creative outlets that really inspire them.
JR, one of South Africa’s top rappers, beat-boxer George Acakian, DJ Dimples and beat-boy dancers will all be hanging out at the event, with workshops and performances for rapping, DJing, beat boxing and break dancing, to name just a few. That will be followed by a talent shows with teens battling it out for the title of Cresta’s Ultimate Teen Xpression winner.
Teens who attend the event have a chance to win gift vouchers worth R500. All they have to do is like the center’s Facebook page, post a picture of themselves with their friends at the event, and tag at least five friends in it.
It’s not only performance arts that will be tested this week. It’s also Cresta’s Gaming Week, with a tournament for all gamers. Entry to the tournament is free, and players will fight it out in virtual worlds. The winners of the tournament will take home prizes worth up to R3000 each.
