Coquitlam Centre Combines Holiday Promotions for a Cause

Over the past few years, Coquitlam Centre has added a number of events to its holiday repertoire. That repertoire now includes three major events, a contest, and two donation drives. It’s quite a handful.

So this year, instead of juggling a variety of unrelated events, the center took a chance on combining it all. Everything under the same umbrella – in this case, the Holiday Hearts Program. In a practical sense, this means each of these events, contests and drives will go to supporting children’s charities, including The Children’s Charity, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Canuck Place, BC Children’s Hospital, SHARE family & community services, and CH.I.L.D. Foundation (Children with Intestinal and Liver Disorders).

This includes the Jingle Bell Jog, a chilly 5k fun run for a great cause. It also includes Unwrapped, the center’s VIP shopping night, which sounds bigger and better than ever.

Coquitlam Centre is also donating $1 to the children’s charities for each child that visits Santa at the center this holiday season. Kids will learn the joy of giving, and they’ll be rewarded with a die-cut Holiday Heart that they will be able to write their name on and hang on a special Holiday Hearts Tree in Santa’s grotto.

Even the center’s Ho Ho Holiday contest fits in with the theme of holiday giving: Shoppers can enter daily to win breakfast with Santa for up to 8 little ones, a ride on his sleigh through the center, photo packages and swag bags including $20 gift cards for everyone. A second package will be given through one of the partnered charities to a family who could use a boost of spirits this holiday season.
