Coquitlam Centre is Ready to Unwined

Coquitlam Centre launched a new tradition last weekend: Unwined, a spring wine festival.

For a $45 ticket, shoppers visited the center after hours on Saturday to take lots of local tastes. There was a great abundance of food on offer, with several restaurants from the center and the local community cooking up fantastic treats. There was also no shortage of alcohol, with eleven wineries and breweries represented amongst the tasting stations. The season’s hottest vintages were on offer, as were coolers and craft beers. Considering the huge (and growing) trend for craft beers, the inclusion of brews like Attila The Honey and Peach’n Cream Fruit Ale seems like an inspired choice.

The event was rounded out with live jazz, a silent auction and taster’s choice voting. The center also enlisted wine expert John Gerum to offer an introductory workshop on Top 5 Secrets to Wine Tasting.

Unwined was held in support of educational funds at Douglas College and the Coquitlam Foundation
