A Christmas Carol (or Two)
Christmas carols set the mood for the season, so it’s no surprise that this month brings with it some great caroling events.
Westpoint Blacktown is caroling for a cause. With Pacific Pathways, the Australian shopping center is raising funds for the Samoa Tsunami appeal. A rooftop caroling concert will be held next Thursday, with standing room for 5000. Over 50 performers will sing holiday classics, but the presentation will be anything but traditional, with children’s choirs and traditional vocalists to reggae, hip-hop, Motown and Samoan styles.
Meanwhile, Walnuts Shopping Centre hosts the X-Factor… make that the X-Mas Factor. Shoppers can compete with one another to show off their serious caroling skills. A panel of judges will choose the winners, who will take home all sorts of goodies. A fun twist on a modern shopping center tradition.
