Chinook Center Crowdsources Style

Fan judging is a great way to get your shoppers invested in your competition. But you can take it a step further: once you’ve got enough fans together, you have yourself a crowd. And then you can crowdsource.

So for this year’s spring ad campaign, Chinook Centre brought in three local stylists to create a defining look. The stylists were given a few simple rules: each stylist had to use the same model, photographer, fashion set and incorporate a garden hose – yes, a garden hose – into their look. The whole thing was shot live in Chinook Centre’s Grand Court with shoppers looking on.

The three different looks were posted to Facebook, along with backgrounds on the stylists and videos of the looks in action. Shoppers can vote from now until the 25th to have a chance at winning $250 in center gift cards. The winning look will be highlighted in the center’s spring campaign.

So not only are the center’s customers invested in this year’s marketing campaign, they’ve handled the focus group testing too. Clever move.
