Centro Bankstown Celebrates Seniors With Expo
Centro Bankstown held its inaugural Seniors Expo last month, and it was a smash hit—over 1000 attendees, and plenty of positive feedback.
The three-day event was held in center court, and featured a range of presentations, displays and information booths. The center brought into presenters from The Aged-care Rights Service Inc (TARS), who covered topics such as their Home and Community Care Advocacy Program, Planning ahead with Wills, Power of Attorney and Advance Care Directives, and the pros and cons of moving into a retirement village.
Exhibitors included a number of local aged-care communities, colleges, credit unions and health services providers.
The Senior’s Expo also included a special Tai Chi session that highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy mind and body. Live entertainment filled out the schedule, and Freebies Rewards members enjoyed free coffee throughout.
Center marketing manager John Klein was happy with both the turnout and the feedback the center received. “We were delighted to receive such positive verbal and written responses to the Expo from our local seniors, who were particularly impressed with the broad spectrum of relevant information available,” said Klein. “Our Seniors Week Expo will remain an important part of Centro Bankstown’s community events calendar.”
