Central City Parties for the Planet
On Earth Day we’ll all be partying for the planet, but one center will be doing so a little more literally than the rest. Central City is hosting the City of Surrey’s Party for the Planet.
The event is absolutely chock-full of sustainable fun. Celebrity guest are just the start: popular children’s entertainers, the Backyardigans, will be there to meet and greet the little ones. There’s lots more fun for the kids planned too, including eco-themed crafts for the kids, face painters, henna artists, and balloon artists. Then there’s the SuperChefs Cookery for Kids program, which promotes healthy nutrition and active lifestyles through both cooking workshops and circus shows.
For the grownups there are plenty of chances to learn from local environmental groups. Community Stewardship programs and other community groups, organizations, and businesses that support the environment and the neighborhood. They’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about the city’s energy plans, and visit the latest and greatest waste management vehicle.
Sounds like quite the party, for quite the planet.
