Cavendish Square Hides a Reindeer in Augmented Reality

Cavendish Square has the perfect plan to captivate kids over the holidays: the center has misplaced a little red-nosed reindeer and needs their help to find him again.

It’s a clever scheme, one that’s been brought to life by the folks at Sea Monster Entertainment. There are floor stickers throughout the center directing kids to the Cavendish app. Those stickers also serve as Augmented Reality markers, so when someone using the app points their camera at them, clues appear to direct them toward the baby reindeer’s location.

Once they find the little guy, all they have to do is snap a picture and not only will they have a great shot to share with their friends, but the center will also award them an adoption certificate to take home.

It’s hard to explain just how well this works in reality without visuals, so here’s a look at Sea Monster’s demo video. It’s almost painfully adorable; check it out.
