Cavendish Shoppers Conduct the Choir
Working with the Cape Philharmonia Choir, Cavendish Square is giving shoppers the chance to conduct the choir—and send a custom song of the season to family and friends.
With a Unity application available both online at at choir stations in the center, shoppers can customize their very own version of Carol of the Bells. The choir’s take on the Christmas classic has been broken down into three parts each for soprano, alto, tenor, bass and orchestra. Shoppers can mix and match those parts into a two-minute carol, bringing them in and taking them out to create an original take on the Christmas classic.
It’s a fun toy to play with, and it’s even better to share. After they’re done conducting the choir, shoppers can send their song out as an e-card to friends and family be email, Twitter or Facebook. They can also enter their tune in the center’s Choir Master competition, earning a shot at an R10,000 (approximately 960 USD) prize.
The Cape Philarmonia Choir visited the center earlier this week to share a little of that Christmas cheer with shoppers live.
