CARS takes over Westfield Chermside
Shoppers at Westfield Chermside had a chance to play out their big rig fantasies as the Disney Pixar’s CARS Truck Tour 2011 swung by their center.
Mack the transporter parked outside the center and opened his doors to Radiator Springs. It was full of indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family. Lightening McQueen’s slot car racing tournament provided a healthy dose of competition, and for the creative types, a trip to the gas station is in order. Mater welcomes participants to his workshop and offers up their choice of arts-and-crafts “jobs.” These include making masks and badges, coloring and listening to CARS-related tales.
Outside, shoppers could take on Doc Hudson’s Driver Training Track, where they learned the rules of the road in mini-cars. The lessons teach little ones about stop signs, right-of-way and traffic lights. Green-screen photos let little drivers get photos with all the film stars.
