Car Boot Fashion at Westfield London
September is all about fashion. Fashion’s Night Out and New York Fashion Week coincide this week. Then, starting next Friday, it’s London Fashion Week.
Westfield London is getting ready to celebrate Fashion Week with what looks to be a car boot sale with serious style. The center has sought out 20 Hyundai i20 cars for its Atrium, and those cars will be used by big brands (including Topshop, Oasis, Swarovski, Firetrap and House of Fraser) to show off this season’s hottest wares.
Rummaging through a car trunk may be the first thing that comes to mind when you consider the best way to get deals on top fashion brands, but this event sounds like a fashion lover’s treat. Mary’s Living & Giving (which benefits Save The Children) will have a selection of vintage couture ready to sell in support of the children’s charity (vintage Chanel, anyone?) and Mary Portas, fashion icon and shop founder, will be making an appearance.
Certain retailers will offer exclusives for the event, and Westfield London will get in on the action its very own car, which will be transformed into a chic Personal Styling Suite. Shoppers can enter the car to get style advice, tips and trend sessions from some of the best stylists in the industry. The center is also inviting top fashion bloggers to visit for the day and contribute to the Westfield Car Boot microsite.
