Capital & Regional Gathers Pledges to Give More

606givemoreCapital & Regional played a big part in encouraging shoppers to give a little back when it teamed up with the Pears Foundation’s Give More campaign.

The campaign encouraged individuals to make a public commitment to give something back to society by donating their money, time or energy to a good cause of their choosing. Capital & Regional worked with the cause to provide space in its shopping centers and encourage shoppers to join up.

Give More wasn’t asking something small, however. Sure, all participants needed to do in the center was write down the details of their chosen cause of charity, get their photos taken and post the results on a ‘pledge wall.’ Shoppers were encouraged to share their pledge online, spreading out the charitable impulse to their friends and family and taking on a bit more accountability.

Capital & Regional’s participation brought in nearly 2000 pledges to add to the national total. “The Give More campaign has proven an enormous success with 15,235 pledges secured across the UK,” said Tamar Ghosh, Give More campaign director. We are thrilled with the response to our campaign at Capital & Regional’s centres with nearly 12 per cent of all pledges coming from its centres.”

The partnership was a particularly good fit for Capital & Regional, as it reflects the values of the company’s community focused initiative, Mall Cares, which was developed to engage with and motivate customers, retailers and the centre management team to work together and raise money for local causes.

Our own Mall Cares campaign demonstrates our efforts to be a responsible, socially aware landlord.”
