Capilano Mall’s Amazing Family Race
Capilano Mall is hard at work on a new long-term initiative to bring families and new parents together within its walls. The first of those happened earlier in April with The Amazing Family Race
Unlike the reality show from which it takes its name, the Amazing Family Race isn’t about travelling the world. It’s about the things that make up family time. The Diaper Bag Challenge, for instance, or a laundry folding race. Another talent shared by moms and dads: the Baby Food Blind Taste Test.
Families who managed to work their way through ten of the challenges and pick up ten stamps in recognition of their participation could turn their passports in for a chance to win something every family probably dreams of: house cleaning services for a year.
The whole day was a family-friendly good time, with the editor of Today’s Parent on hand to chat with parents, and Bobs and Lolo entertaining the little ones.
The afternoon event also raised money for a great cause: $1 was donated to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation for each passport entered. The money went toward the hospital’s maternity clinic.
