Building Dreams
Stanford Shopping Center is in the midst of a biannual initiative that does a lot of good for its community.
Dreams Happen is a fundraising event hosted by the Californian shopping center. Teams of architects, designers and builders work together to create on-of-a-kind, elaborate children’s playhouses. The playhouses are put on display at the shopping center for a month, and then auctioned off at a gala event. All proceeds go to Rebuilding Together Peninsula, a non-profit that repairs the home of low-income earners along with community facilities.
The playhouses are always fantastic to behold. In the last couple years, they’ve included replicas of cottages, Victorian homes, and log cabins; castles, theatres and cathedrals. Hopefully this year’s gala will be as successful as those of years past.
