Broadwalk Centre Marks the History of the Monarchy

In a little over a week, Wills and Kate will be married. It’s a romance that’s been played out in the public eye for years, now, and the Royal Wedding should be an incredible culmination. British shopping centers are getting in on the celebration over the next week, bringing the excitement into the mix of their April events.

The Broadwalk Centre in Edgware is paying tribute by inviting local schools to produce a giant collage of the Royal Family. Artists are visiting 6 local schools to help children create pictures of Kings and Queens of England using recycled materials. Each individual picture will be incorporated onto a large banner charting the history of the British Monarch.

On Friday, April 29th, the day of the wedding, the children will receive VIP invitations to the unveiling of the artwork. A King Henry VIII look-a-like will preside over the unveiling, which will be followed by a day of street party entertainment.

“As a community shopping centre we wanted our royal revelry to involve the local community, and what better way to do that than by allowing local school children to create a truly unique piece of celebratory artwork that will be displayed in the shopping centre,” said Dina Mistry, Broadwalk Centre marketing manager.
