Bristol Warner Village Becomes a Blank Canvas for Cinco de Mayo

Bristol Warner Village is celebrating Cinco de Mayo this weekend, and it’s pulling out all the stops. There will be a Mariachi band, folklorico dancers, face painting and lots of fun. But there will also be something that makes a bigger difference: the center is offering up one of its walls to beautify its community and bring local children together with help from Operation Clean Slate.

For three hours this saturday, children can visit the center to help create a huge mural. The mural will showcase the local community lifestyle, but it also gives kids a chance to feel like part of something bigger as they participate in art that will adorn the center.

That’s what Operation Clean Slate is all about. It’s a campus and community beautification program designed to involve youth and help them make a difference at their schools and in their communities. The organization provides all the supplies, and local children can participate for free.

The mural at Bristol Warner Village will be the first in its area that’s put together by Operation Clean Slate. Danielle Bovard, marketing manager for Bristol Warner Village, said, “We are proud to have local children create the mural that will build community awareness to help keep our neighborhoods clean and safe. Bristol Warner Village is dedicated to helping our Santa Ana community.”
