Brightwater Commons Turns Halloween into Horrorwood

Before we leave Halloween behind, let’s take a quick look at what The Brightwater Commons was up to on Monday night: Horrorwood II.

It’s not quite as terrifyingly spooky as it sounds, but it must have been tons of fun for the little ones and their families. It was an evening-long event, complete with entry fee, and it gave the kiddies far more to do than trick-or-treat at center retailers (though that was on the menu too).

After all the pirates and princesses collected their candy, the center brought the costumed together for its Fancy Dress contest. Participants in several age categories had the chance to show off their duds for a chance to win. Winners were announced later in the evening at the 2nd Annual Toomie Awards, a red carpet award ceremony.

The worst part of trick-or-treating is having to stop and go home, so the center forestalled that problem with plenty of entertainment, including jumping castles, water balls and bungee trampoline. Center court played host to the most aggressive who participated in Pinata bashing.

To ensure a magical night, the Wow! Variety Show offered death defying feats like sword climbing, beds of glass and fire performances, and illusion Vicus Cruywagen capped the evening off with a magic show.
