Botany Town Centre Broadcasts Live – News and Weather Up Next

On Monday, Botany Town Centre will become the heart of its community for more than shopping: it will be broadcasting community radio.

Botany FM will serve as the local community’s information and entertainment source. The man behind the launch, radio veteran broadcaster John Lehmann, says, ““Broadcasting encompasses a wide array of skills from sales and marketing, technical and news gathering, to sitting behind the microphone, which our locals can take part in. With a bit of talkback, news, views, and a lot of fun – the way Kiwi radio use to be.”

It’s not just about bringing back the old, though. The station will give young broadcasting hopefuls the chance to get a taste of the industry. The station will also serve as a community bulletin board for local sports groups, churches and organizations to announce events and news. Reportedly, AMP Capital Shopping Centres has been very supportive of the arrival of Botany FM, as it gives the centre a direct connection to the people living and working in its area.
