Belmont Forum Holds a Battle of the Christmas Choirs
Christmas choirs were all the rage last month, and Belmont Forum was on top of the trend.
The center held its Battle of the Christmas Choirs over November and December. It started with the Children’s event on November 27th. Belmont Forum advertised in a regional paper and got an incredible response, with 19 children’s choirs registering – and over 500 kids participating. The competition was lengthened to accommodate all the choirs, and hundreds of spectators were on hand throughout the event. Each choir sang a Christmas-themed arrangement and a song of their own choosing.
The center employed two judges with choral backgrounds to award four prizes to the top choirs – Outstanding Performance for $1,500, Excellent Performance for $1,000, Very Good Performance for $750 and the Belmont Forum Encouragement Award of $500.
