All the California Gurls at Botany Town Centre

This is kind of adorable: over the school holidays, Botany Town Centre wanted to celebrate the launch of Thomas Sabo’s brand new pop-art-influenced jewellery collection, which features Katy Perry as brand ambassador. So how’d they do that? With a Katy Perry lookalike contest.

The center tasked its shoppers with the challenge of pulling out their best blue hair, cupcakes and candy cane-inspired looks for the sugary pop-star. All the lookalikes got to have their photos taken and enter to win their very own Thomas Sabo charm bracelet. The drawn winner, Stephanie Gray, pulled out a shimmery purple dress, a huge smile and the perfect hair for the contest.

For the shoppers who just weren’t that into Katy Perry, the center held all kinds of activities for school holiday fun. There was the Baseball Roadshow in Market Square with the Howick and Pakuranga and Tepuru Coasters baseball clubs, scaling the Go Vertical Climbing Wall and getting creative at the Hama Beads stall.

Botany Town Centre senior marketing manager Desiree Clark says, “We were delighted to be able to bring some great school holiday action to Botany Town Centre, there was something for everyone, and the great activities kept the young ones off the couch and active during the break.”
