Aberdeen Centre Rings In The New Year
Aberdeen Centre will usher in the Lunar New Year with a huge celebration on February 2nd.
For a week leading up to the celebration, the center’s halls will be filled with vendors for its Chinese New Year Flower and Gift fair. On the night of the celebration, the fair will be open until midnight to keep shoppers busy as they take part in the countdown to the Year of the Rabbit.
A local multicultural radio station will take the reins for the pre-countdown festivities, and the countdown itself will be broadcast live on TV from the center. There may also be a surprise visit from the Chinese God of Fortune in the works.
Shoppers will want to rest up after the midnight countdown, because Aberdeen Centre isn’t stopping there. That weekend, the festivities continue with orchestral and dance performances, including the Golden Dragon and Lion dance.
