RetailGreen is Coming Up
Is there room in your life and your budget to think about your shopping center’s sustainable future? If so, you might want to consider a trip to Phoenix, AZ this November. ICSC’s RetailGreen Conference & Innovation Showcase will be at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa on November 27-28.
If you’re interested, it kicks off with an optional educational program that covers LEED for Retail beyond the basics. If you’re curious about certification programs or the future of LEED rating (or getting involved in LEED v4’s beta), this is a must.
From there, it’s a matter of hashing out the sustainable future of the retail and retail real estate industry. How far have we made it, where do we need to go next, and what’s still relevant today. There are some fascinating sounding sessions coming up at the event, including How Play and Humor Help us Innovate, and Leading Edge Ideas. The same old green tactics aren’t going to cut it, so we’re all going to need to learn to be creative in our sustainable approaches.
Roundtable topics include sustainable practices up and down the food chain, from developing with sustainability in mind to individual changes you can make in your center to save money and energy in the long run.
Brad M. Hutensky, this year’s ICSC Chairman, will look at the broad outlook for Retail Real Estate.
