ICSC Plans Benchmark Analysis of Shopping Center Operations
The International Council of Shopping Centers is teaming up with Trepp, LLC to bring something new and interesting to its members: an analysis of shopping centers across the U.S. The collaboration seeks to collect and analyse benchmark and performance data leveraging Trepp’s detailed information from nearly 20,000 shopping centers. It will also involve a survey of shopping center owners and management companies, which will be opened up to participants next month.
Once it’s complete, it will be offered up to ICSC members, hopefully helping those in the retail real estate business better understand the position of shopping center properties, particularly with regards to income and expense data.
“We are excited about this collaborative effort between Trepp and ICSC because of two factors,” said ICSC President and CEO Michael Kercheval. “Both the scope and the flexible delivery of this research and analysis will be an unprecedented value-add for our membership,” he said.
ICSC and Trepp have been working together since 2009, with the organization maintaining access to Trepp’s monthly reports.
“This was a natural extension of the relationship between our organizations,” said Annemarie DiCola, CEO of Trepp. “Having forged a relationship over the last several years, the value proposition of developing this analysis was a logical next step,” DiCola said.
